About me

Peshmerge Morad

Hello and welcome to my website, where I regularly publish how-tos for solving real-world problems!

I am Peshmerge (IPA: peːʃmɛɾɡɛ) Morad, a machine learning & software engineer based in Germany. I have a Master’s in Data Science from the University of Twente in the Netherlands. My master’s thesis was in NLP and computational linguistics for low-resourced languages, specifically Part-of-Speech tagging for Northern Kurdish (Kurmanji).

I strongly believe that the most foundational aspect of programming isn’t the specific language you use, but rather the way you think and approach problems and challenges. A solid problem-solving mindset is what truly makes a difference. Throughout my academic and professional career, I have worked with various programming languages, including PHP, Java, Python, JavaScript, Pascal, C++, and C#.

More?

While my primary field is computer science, I’m also drawn to sociology, anthropology, politics, history, and civic issues. Exploring these fields gives me a broader perspective on how technology shapes society. In addition, I find it invaluable for tackling complex problems thoughtfully, keeping in mind both their social impact and the ethical questions they raise.

Furthermore, I speak Dutch, Kurdish, Arabic, English, and German; besides, I make music and play a unique instrument called the Duduk.
